Breitbart News senior editor-at-large Peter Schweizer today released the full transcript of a video interview he conducted with former National Security Advisor and former Vice President Mike Pence, which he shared with Breitbart News.

In the video, the interviewer asked Pence about his decision to go to the CIA, where he was tasked with overseeing the agency’s covert operations.

Pence explained that he wanted to “understand the issues of the day and get them in perspective.”

He went on to say that he had to get “a sense of the mindset of the country” and “look at how we’re dealing with it.”

He said that he would need to “be able to answer the question: How are we going to do it better?”

In the context of the interview, the question posed to Pence by the interviewer was, “How do you handle your time as the vice president?”

Pence responded that he felt he could be “more effective in the White House” and that he needed to be “better prepared” to “respond to whatever crisis we might face.”

During the interview Pence went on, he said, “We have to make sure that we don’t go to a place where we’re going to be too weak to defend ourselves.”

Pence then explained that “I’m not a strategist,” but he added, “I understand how to deal with things.”

He also explained that while the military was not his focus, “the military can be a force multiplier for the president.”

Pence went into detail on how he “looked at” the military and said that “it can help me with some of the things I’m doing.”

He added that he was also “the guy” who “gets a sense of what the problems are and how we should address them.”

In addition, Pence explained, “My experience with the military, I think that’s where I got my skills and my experience.”

He explained that his “experience” included the Army.

“I got my combat experience in the Army,” Pence said, referencing his time in the Air Force.

“And that was before I became vice president.”

During this interview, Pence was also asked about his “favoritism for generals,” and Pence said that, “You’re always going to have a preference for a certain kind of general.

And I think a lot of people would argue that a general has a lot more power in that position.”

Pence said he felt that generals could “do a lot better” in the Trump administration than people like John Bolton.

“Bolton was a very good general.

But it’s going to take a lot for him to really be a good general,” Pence added.

Pence then went on about how the generals in the military are “going to be a very valuable asset” to the president.

He also said that the military will “have a real role to play in the governance of the government.”

The interview came on the heels of Trump’s decision to name Steve Bannon as his new chief strategist.

Pence was asked about Bannon’s appointment to the National Security Council.

“This is a guy who had a real great resume,” Pence explained.

“He had a lot to offer the military.

And we thought that was a really important distinction.”

Pence added that, in addition to Bannon, “there’s a bunch of other guys that can help us in the National Trade Council, and there’s a lot that we need to work with.

But Bannon, he’s a real leader.”

Pence also commented on how, during the transition, Bannon was asked “how you’d make your transition from a political strategist to chief strategist.”

“Well, I didn’t have a clue about it, but I think I’d go through it.

I thought that I’d have to do some homework.

I really didn’t know what the answer was.

I don’t know,” Pence responded.

Pence also talked about his relationship with President-Elect Mike Pence.

“Mike was really supportive of my candidacy,” Pence commented.

“We were talking about it and we talked about it a lot.

He’s a good guy.

He was a good president.

And so I just had to learn that I had to be better prepared for whatever challenge we might have.”

The Vice President also discussed his time as a CIA officer.

“It’s kind of a scary thing to say, but there were times that I really did feel like I was part of a team,” Pence admitted.

“If you had asked me what my role was, I’d say that I was the guy who was getting a sense, getting the sense of where things were going, who were the players in the room.

And then the guys in the group that were making decisions would get a sense. So that
